frequently asked questions

My child is having a hard time sucking fluids through the straw. Help!

To ensure that proper air flow is occurring, check underneath the lid that there is a tiny hole punctured through the lid. If there does not appear to be a hole, puncture this manually with a toothpick or similar sized sharp object.

I’m having a hard time getting the suction to work. Help!

The results of the suction may vary depending on the type of surface that you’re using. The best surfaces for good suction are glass, granite, marble or plastic. Surfaces with texture such as wood or matte plastic can cause the suction to work less effectively.

You can also try applying a small drop of water under the suction cup before pressing down, which eliminates extra gas and creates a tighter seal.

Is the spoon and spork dishwasher safe?

The spoon and spork should be hand washed to avoid tarnishing of the beechwood handles.

Is this bib adjustable?

The bib has 4 different slots to allow up to 8 different adjustments in size!

How do I care for my silicone products?

All silicone feeding products are microwave safe. The bib, bowl and plate are also dishwasher safe. Handwashing only is recommended for the spork and spoon to avoid tarnishing the beech wood handles.

How do I clean my reusable snack stash bags?

Each Paperclip feeding product comes with a reusable snack stash bag that can be repurposed for snacks, toys or other essentials. While the silicone products are dishwasher and microwave safe, the snack stash bags arenot. These bags should be hand washed with a gentle soap and air dried after each use.

I hand washed my silicone products and now they taste like soap. Help!

Strong dish detergents and soaps are often absorbed into silicone and can affect the taste of whatever you are storing. Using a detergent with a neutral pH will help prevent this problem from happening. Stay away from strong dish soaps like ones that have essential oils in them.

To get rid of any unwanted tastes or smells, we’d suggest the following care routine:

  • Dampen your silicone product with water and scrub a generous amount of baking soda onto the product to form a paste.
  • Leave the paste to dry for a few hours.
  • Rinse the product with hot water.
